The only turkey I ate this Thanksgiving...

Now that I officially gained 10 pounds as a result of Thanksgiving, I should probably start up that exercise thing again. But before I do that, let’s talk about my Thanksgiving treat :)

I am totally into desserts, so when deciding what to bring to Thanksgiving dinner it was an easy decision to say the least = dessert. A month ago, I stumbled upon the cutest little turkeys and knew that they would be my dessert of choice because they are both adorable and festive.

Even though I knew this dessert was unhealthy to the mAxXXxX, I still was all about it. So after picking up Terence from the train station on Wednesday, we headed to the grocery store to pick up all of the needed ingredients.

Double Stuffed Oreos
Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups (Miniatures)
Whoppers
Candy Corn
Chocolate Sprinkles
Chocolate Frosting
Yellow Frosting
Red Frosting

Super healthy right? Well you can imagine how Terence and I felt on line at the grocery store when the man in front of us was purchasing fruit and vegetables for his “health smoothie.” Anyway, here we go...

Step 1: Line the top of your double stuffed oreos with chocolate frosting and insert 4 to 5 candy corns. I used 4 since I was on a candy corn shortage.

Step 2: Put chocolate frosting on the back section of a different oreo and stick the oreo with the candy corns onto it to make a 90 degree angle (see dad I am smart!). Then rest your oreos against a wall or cutting board while they dry.

Step 3: Unwrap your mini reese’s pb cups and cut off a section to create a flat bottom (see below). Then apply frosting to the newly created flat botoom and stick it onto your oreos.

Step 4: Take a bit of chocolate frosting and apply it to the whopper. Stick the whopper on top of the reese’s pb cup, and now you have the turkey's head - yay progress.

Step 5: Beak time…take a dab of yellow frosting and the white tip of a candy corn and stick it right in the middle of the whopper. Make sure you don’t use too much yellow frosting because then it just looks weird – next time I will be following this rule ha.

Step 6: Okay here is the part that I really need to work on. The frosting details. Umm I failed but then again I had like 5 seconds and kind of just winged it. Use the yellow frosting to make the turkey's legs and eyes (add a chocolate sprinkle to finish off the eyes). Use the red frosting to make the gobble gobble. What is the real name for that anyway?

And there is the finallll product. Ha, mine really do need some work eh. Whatever, I LOVED them and everyone really enjoyed them. Especially…Terence.

I will work on my icing skillz for next time,
E
