So I went to Ireland two weekends in a row. I made Kim Byrnes a little angry when I told her I wished I had went abroad there. But I mean it just felt like home. And the people loved us (can ya blame them) and they spoke like this "oh ya what are ye doing oh that's fucking brilliant" I was #intoit.
Weekend one:
My friends and I were looking for a really authentic experience, quiet relaxing weekend. Lahinch is the surfing town in Ireland and with some recommendations from Morgan's dad that was our destination. Ireland is B E A UTIFUL. Seriously one of the prettiest places I have ever been.
We got to our bed and breakfast which was exactly what we were looking for. Homey and friendly! Lahinch has a population of 350. So within about one hour of us being in one of the local pubs, word had already spread there were 5 American girls in Lanhinch for the weekend. I'm not going to say we were celebrities... but Im not going to say we weren't.
Day two we went horseback riding Stephie a little German gem was our guide, it was perfect, as was the rest of the weekend.
Fam bam Ireland jam. Pubbing, reaking havoc, seafood and finding the next big celeberity star was how the Byrnes' went about the mother land.
Oh, and appies make us happy!
On to more London things. I take back my earlier statement about wishing I went abroad in Ireland, happy mom? Because from November 18 - December 31st London has Christmas Land set up in Hyde Park. On Saturday we woke up at 10:00 am put on Christmas sweaters (yeah we are those people) and headed to this magical place. To my surprise we didn't even have to pass through the seven levels of the Candy Cane forest or the Lincoln Tunnel to get there.
Are you picturing that scene from ELF in the department store? Okay hold that image; now picture it outside and 2000 times bigger with rides, revolving bars, Oktoberfest tents, food x’s 100, mulled wine, cider, and Christmas music blasting. Excuse my French but it was THE SHIT and I will be going back at least 20 more times before I leave...
Happy Thanksgiving week
