Never Have I Ever

October could quite possibly be my favorite month of the year. I may tell you that other months are my favorite when they come around, but as of today (9:49 am, October 26th, 2011) I am officially making October my favorite month of the year…so just go with it, okay?

Each year at home Erin and I still convince Kim and Jack to take us pumpkin slash apple picking which last year conveniently ended with some impromptu wine tasting #perksofbeingolder. But overall it is just a great freaking month of sweaters, pumpkins and dressing up in weird outfits on the 31st. Let’s get real who the heck could complain about that?

(she was supposed to be the bird to my catcher; things got weird when she went rogue and showed up as a construction worker).

But I have a small confession. You know that whole haunted house aspect of October/Halloween? Well never have I ever made it through one. Don't get me wrong I've tried time and time again. And the last time ended with my friend’s dad carrying me through the second half of the haunted house (and yes I was 19 year old at the time). Embarrassing? Maybe? Yepppp! So I have made it a part of my bucket list to get through one of these bad boys THIS YEAR. But since London chooses to neglect all the goodies that come along with October such as pumpkin spice lattes, muffins and costumes, I think I will have to wait until next year to cross that one off my bucket list...or maybe the year after. I mean it would mean me conquering the monster that is a bunch of paid actors in a corn field.

In other news since it is Wednesday I shall give you the a high and low from this past weekend. The high had to be Sunday when me and my friend went to Wembley Stadium to see some football Americano style. The Bears and The Buccaneers were playing, so we drank some beers and tailgated in celebration. Judging by the stares, I guess people in London do not get involved in tailgates pre football games. Sooooo instead of being judged, we sat in a handicapped parking spot surrounded by cars. Let’s be real somebody had to do it, and most of the time it ends up being me.

The low of this weekend was that while the tailgate was super fun we ended up not being able to pick up our tickets at will call aka we actually couldn't get into the game. But I mean ya win some ya loose some. Shame on me for trying to think football involved touch downs and not goals in the UK...

Happy hump day,
S
