London Trip Recap

I’m backkkk!

Instead of listing every detail of my 6 day trip to London Town I thought it would be better to list the two highlights and two lowlights of my trip. Terence, Shannon and I played this after each day and I thought it would be perfect for the blogosphere as well.

Lowlight

DINGGG. The noise of bartenders ringing their closing bell has haunted me ever since I left London. For some bizarre reason most pubs in London close at midnight and sometimes even at 11:30. It really was annoying having to bar hop from a pub to a hotel bar to a casino and by annoying I mean it turned out to be a hilarious story.

Highlight

Love Actually. Do you know the opening scene of Love Actually? The one where everyone is arriving to Heathrow Airport and Hugh Grant’s character is speaking about how love actually is all around. Well I got to live that scene first hand. Arriving to Heathrow last week and seeing Shann’s face has to definitely be one of the highlights of my trip. I haven’t seen her in so long and seeing her standing there in her flannel made me the happiest girl in the world.

Lowlight

Access Denied. The amazing trip that I am recapping right now…almost didn’t happen. Terence and I almost got our asses sent right back to America before even stepping out of Heathrow Airport. Word to the wise: 1. Know the exact address that you will be going to 2. Bring the details of your return ticket so they don’t think you are trying to stay forever. If you do both of these things then I am sure you will have no problem. As for Terence and I, we had a prettttyyy hard time convincing customs that we had a destination and planned on leaving in 6 days.

Highlight

We sip champagne when we thirsty. Marco Pierre White is a British celebrity chef, restauranteur and television personality. He is also the mentor to Gordon Ramsay, Curtis Stone and more. He is most known for being the youngest chef ever to have been awarded three Michelin stars aka he is an amazing. Oh, and he is the spokesperson for one of the accounts that I work on; because of this I have spent multiple working days with him and he taught me how to cook the BEST asparagus risotto EVER. Last time that I saw him, he told me to give him a call when I was in London. Flash ahead one hour after I dialed his number from London: Terence, Shannon, Marco and I sitting in a restaurant sipping Dom Pérignon, a beer brewed my Marco himself and reading the menu of a restaurant set to open next week. Yes, Marco invited me and my family to the restaurant that he will soon be opening with Piers Morgan and it was PERFECT. Terence even said, “That was one of the five best meals I have ever had in my life.”

I could for sure continue with highlights from “we wear flannels on Saturday” to shots in TigaTiga to discovering that hoegaarden is my fav beer to eating the best tortellini evaeva to buying $200 worth of clothing in Primmark to doing a cartwheel in front of Buckingham Palace and more.

I really like this game. I think I am officially going to make Wednesday the highlight and lowlight post day. So every Wednesday, Shannon and I (hopefully Shannon) will post the highlight and lowlight of our hump days.

Back to the real word,
E

  2. While i love this recap you got one thing wrong. You attempted a cartwheel in front of buckingham place. I saw the picture and there is no way you could call that a cartwheel.
