Chocolate Acorn Treats

The other day I was researching fall desserts and discovered these adorable acorns that I knew I had to make because 1. they are adorable and 2. they only require 4 ingredients and I already had 2 of them.  Check out my inspiration acorns below:

So cute, right? I think they are a perfect dessert to bring along to a dinner party or gathering. Last week I decided to do a trial run to see if I could recreate these super festive treats. I left work, stopped by the grocery store to pick up the other two ingredients that I needed and started on my acorns. Here is how they are made.

The 4 ingredients that you will need are:

Nilla Wafers Mini (Apparently they sell mini Nilla Wafers. Who knew? Not me aka I used the big ones which was a fail), Hersey Kisses, Chocolate Frosting and Pretzel Sticks

1. First take your Mini Nilla Wafer and put a dab of chocolate frosting in the middle of it. If you are like me and lovelovelove icing then put a coat of icing on the Mini Nilla Wafer = game changer.

2. If you use regular Nilla Wafers (which is not recommended) like I did then you will have to cut each Nilla Wafer into a smaller circle to fit the size of the base of your Hersey Kiss. Mine still turned out okay with the regular size Nilla Wafers but next time I will definitely be using the minis.

3. Next take a Hersey Kiss and stick the base onto the Nilla Wafer to make the body of the acorn.

4. Then to make the stem, all you have to do is put a dab of icing on the top of the Nilla Wafer and attach a mini piece of pretzel.

SO easy!! Check out mine below. All I can say is that I am happy I did a trail run before bringing these to someone’s house since the regular Nilla Wafers did not turn out as pretty. But I still loved my acorns.
